# About Axso

Axso is a new business media company. We write The Axso Brief, a free weekly email with the business news that matters to people who run local businesses, what it means for them, and what to do about it.

## Who it's for

We write first for the owners and operators of local businesses: shops, restaurants, service companies, clinics, pawn shops and franchise locations, anywhere in the US. You make the calls, and you don't have all morning to read the news.

Most business news is written for investors and big companies. It tells you what a stock did. It rarely tells you what a rate change, a new rule or a new tool means for a business with a dozen employees. We write that part.

We also write for:

- **Founders** who want growth ideas and useful tools without the hype.
- **Managers and executives** who want to keep up with what's changing in a few minutes a week.
- **People who follow the economy** and want to see what rates, prices and new rules mean for real businesses.

Everyone gets the same email.

## What The Axso Brief is

The Axso Brief is free. It arrives every Tuesday morning and takes about five minutes to read. Every issue has three parts:

1. **The news, in plain English.** Three to five stories that matter to local businesses. Each one says what it means for a business like yours, gives you one thing to do, and links to its source.
2. **AI and tech you can use.** One tool or change worth knowing about, what it costs, and who it's for.
3. **A growth play to copy.** How a real business got more customers or cut costs, step by step.

When you sign up, your welcome email brings you The Local Business AI Starter Kit, our free guide to AI tools for local businesses. Every issue is also published on this site, so you can read one before you sign up.

## How we pick stories

We ask one question about every story: does it change how a local business runs? If it touches your costs, prices, staff, taxes, loans, customers or the tools you use, it's a candidate. If it only moves a stock price or fills a news cycle, we leave it out.

For each story we keep, we explain what happened in plain English, say what it means for you, and suggest one thing to do. We cover politics only when it changes how you run your business. Our [Editorial standards](https://axsomedia.com/editorial-standards) spell out the full rules.

## Who writes it

The Axso Brief and the articles on this site are written by the Axso team, and every story carries that byline. Instead of asking you to trust a name, we give you a way to check our work: every story links to its source, and when we get something wrong, we fix it and add a dated correction note to the story.

## Our promise to readers

- Every story links to its source.
- Sponsors are always labeled "Sponsored."
- We cover politics only when it changes how you run your business.
- We never sell or share your email.
- Unsubscribe in one click, any time.

We don't have any sponsors yet. When we do, the second promise applies to every one of them.
